Brake fluid is critical for making sure that your brakes function exactly as they should and that the major components in the braking system are protected.
As soon as you place pressure on the brake, the system’s fluid ensures that the brake pads connect with the rotors, in turn slowing the car down predictably. However, over the course of driving the brake fluid becomes aerated absorbing oxygen, moisture and many other potential pollutants. If you’ve found that your brakes are beginning to feel spongy, then it’s likely that your braking fluid has absorbed too much air. This warning sign should be taken seriously, as at this point the effectiveness of your brakes is severely compromised. A brake fluid flush restores your system to its proper performance and also increases the longevity of your braking components.
Manufactures recommend that your brake fluid is changed at least every 24 months or 24,000 miles (whichever comes sooner). Our flush service includes a complete drain of your braking system, and refilling with fluid up to the manufacturer’s specifications. We will also change your fluid as part of our major service package at Uckfield Motor Services.
Our flush service differs from vehicle to vehicle, and as such the cost varies. If you’ve suffered a leak, or there’s damage to your brake fluid reservoir, this too will need to be assessed. Call in today and our mechanics will inspect your vehicle and provide a written quote for the work (with all parts, labour and VAT included – so you know exactly what you’ll pay when picking your vehicle up).
